Basically self-taught, Wendy worked with graphite pencils for many years. The transition from graphite to color was quite difficult and she almost gave up in frustration. Concerned about maintaining the same detail, depth, and contrast achieved with her graphite work, she worked diligently to establish her own technique and recognizable style. Not giving up has truly paid off—today she is self-employed and solely supported through her artwork, and in 2007 she earned status as a Signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America.
