Art is my passion, its creation is my journey. Here is my path.

Each painting begins with an inspiration. This comes from many sources, perhaps fruit ripening on the vine,
or maybe a reflection in a pond. Then I think of how
best I can convey that moment or feeling to my viewer.
I start planning the painting. Sometimes I use only colored pencils layering one color upon the next to develop the image's contours, contrasts, and shadings. At times I combine water colors with the colored pencil. Still other times the subject calls for the simplicity of
my first love graphite to convey my message. Often I work on white paper, but will choose a colored paper when I wish to set a mood or emotion. I work the painting till I am satisfied. This is when I let go of this art, for my journey is complete.

My hope is that my viewer feels something when they look at my work. I want them to experience that which inspired me.

In 2000 I began teaching at Linn Benton Community College and since then have learned that I enjoy very much working with other artists, no matter what level,
to nurture and encourage them on their journey.
